2022 develops into a fantastic year for PlayStation fans with several major publications that will appear in the next few weeks. Playing on PlayStation, however, is already great thanks to a fantastic selection of free-to-play titles both on PS4 and PS5. Shocking is PubG: Battlegrounds for January 2022 shot at the top of the list of the best free-to-play games of PlayStation , although it is only playable for free on 12th January.
It has managed to beat the extremely popular Fortnite of Epic Games in the EU region and is second in the USA Canada region. Since Fortnite is considered one of the most popular free-to-play games on the market, the overthrow of Fortnite through PUBG is proof that free-to-play was the right step for the Battle Royale.
However, this is not the only new game that shoots to the top of the list. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel was published on January 18th and is conveniently located in both regions on the third place. This could be a sign that PlayStation player searches for more variety when it comes to free-to-play games on the platform.
Interestingly, Apex Legends in none of the two regions under the TOP 5 – despite the fact , that it has recently set up a new record for most simultaneous players on Steam. Warzone is conveniently located in the fourth place in the US region and in fifth place in the EU region, with Rocket League and REC Room both hover at the end of the list of each region. Since Warzone Pacific is regularly criticized for problems in the game and graphic error, this game could continue to fall into the list if the statistics of February 2022 are published by Sony.
